One rainy night in 2007 after band practice at our drummer's house in the country, a mildly annoying argument broke out over who was to drive our sax player Jon home. It was decided... Steve would drive him. But Jon, annoyed that he was apparently a burden to his bandmates, took off without saying anything and began the ten km walk back to his house in the dark and in the rain.
After Jon's disappearance Mack and Steve and Kent all ran outside to call for Jon. The only reply was the lonesome whistle of a train somewhere in the distance.
Steve and Mack jumped into Steve's Corolla and sped off to find Jon and found him walking beside the road with his sax on his back, dripping wet, and refused to accept a lift home to his house.
"Jon get in the CAR!!"
"No! It's country roads, nothing's gonna happen to me!"
"Jon get in the fucking car!"
"Go to hell Lavery!"
Steve unbuckled his seat belt, jumped out of the car, and proceeded to tackle Jon. After a moment the fight came to an abrupt halt. Then the two of them calmly took off their glasses and placed them on the hood of the Corolla while Mack sat in the passenger seat delighted by the scene that was unfolding.
After the glasses were safe, the fight resumed. The two of them gave up before anyone was seriously hurt and Jon reluctantly plopped himself in the back seat and drove off to Jon's house in silence.
